I got into SEO before it was a job title people put on business cards. Thirteen years and a hundred thousand pages later, the fundamentals haven't changed — Google still wants to surface the most relevant, trustworthy answer for a given query — but everything around those fundamentals has shifted dramatically.
I founded Bakan Marketing in 2018 with one conviction: marketing agencies should treat their clients' budgets like their own. No fluff, no vanity metrics, no 90-page reports full of charts that don't connect to revenue. Just strategy that moves the needle.
Over the years I found myself drawn to a specific type of client — service area businesses. Pest control operators. Pool service companies. HVAC contractors. Home services franchises. These are businesses with real recurring revenue, real operational complexity, and a real problem: their marketing data is scattered across six different platforms and none of it tells a coherent story.
So we built the system that fixes that. Acquisition automation, field service CRM integration, unified attribution dashboards — the kind of data infrastructure that lets an operator understand their true customer acquisition cost, their LTV by service type, and what it costs to replicate their best market in a new one.
